A meta-analysis pooling 185 studies found that sperm concentration in men from North America, Europe and Australia fell by 52.4 per cent between 1973 and 2011. An updated analysis in 2022 extended the finding to South America, Asia and Africa, and reported that the rate of decline appears to have accelerated since 2000.
No single cause has been established. The candidates under investigation are the ones you would expect — endocrine-disrupting chemicals, obesity, smoking, heat, sedentary work — and the honest position is that the trend is far better documented than its explanation.

Did you know
The decline was not found in men from other regions in the original study, which was initially read as reassuring. The 2022 follow-up found the same fall there too; the earlier absence was a shortage of data, not of decline.

A shop has two hundred of them. One of them is right for you.
Seven questions: who it is for, what sounds appealing, how quiet it has to be, what it may cost. Out comes one type — with what to look for, what it costs, and what nobody prints on the box.

For the two of you
Find out what you both want — without either of you saying it first.
You each answer twenty questions on your own, and neither of you ever sees the other’s answers. Only what you both said yes or maybe to comes back. A no and a maybe look identical from outside, so saying no costs nothing — which is what makes the answers honest.
